Our original analysis of this role

3/5

WORTH APPLYING?
Conditional — only if you hold KPK domicile and have the very specific academic and experience profile the ad demands. These are not general management roles.

COMPETITION LEVEL:
Low to Medium — only 2 posts are available, but the qualification and experience bar is very high. The field of Prosthetics and Orthotics is specialized enough that the pool of eligible candidates in KPK is naturally limited. Those who meet the criteria face less competition than in typical government jobs, but the scrutiny will be intense.

PAY AND BENEFITS:
The source advertisement does not mention any salary, pay scale, or benefits. This is a notable omission for director-level positions. Interested candidates should contact PIPOS directly or check www.pipos.gkp.pk for this information before applying. What is confirmed: appointment is for three years, extendable once, with a three-month probation period.

RED FLAGS:
No salary or pay scale mentioned anywhere in the advertisement. For director-level roles, this is unusual and leaves applicants in the dark on a critical point.
Rs. 10,000 non-refundable application fee is steep, especially given that only 2 posts are being filled. If you are not shortlisted, that money is gone.
The ad states the competent authority has the power to increase, decrease, or even cancel posts entirely as per institutional requirements — meaning even if you apply and qualify, the post may disappear.
No TA/DA for interview. Candidates travelling from outside Peshawar bear full travel costs at their own expense.
The scrutiny committee can reject incomplete applications, and the PIPOS Board's decision is stated to be final with limited appeal options.

HIDDEN BENEFITS:
The institution encourages applications from all genders, minority groups, and persons with disabilities, which is explicitly stated — a positive sign for an inclusive workplace.
The service is governed under the KPK PIPOS Act, 1999, giving it a defined legal framework.
Appointment is extendable on satisfactory performance, offering some continuity for the right candidate.

BEST FOR:
Senior professionals with a strong academic or clinical background specifically in Prosthetics and Orthotics, holding KPK domicile, who are looking to step into institutional leadership. These roles are not entry points — they are for people who have already spent a decade or more in this field and are ready to lead at the organizational level.
